1. COURT DIMENSIONS
Plastic cups are to be sunk into the ground (flush) 21'.0" apart (Measure from center of each cup). A 3' x 3' frame made out of 2 x 4's can also be used. Fill frame full of dirt, potting soil, or sand. Place cups (flush) in center of frame. When players are not using a frame box, make sure a 24" diameter area around cups are clear of grass or debris to eliminate interference. |

2. RULES FOR PLAYING
Each team has 3 washers to pitch (Red or Blue). NOTE: Red or Blue coloring may wear off. A coin toss or lagging washers (whichever comes closest to the cup) will determine which team goes first. Each player must pitch his/her washer behind an imaginary line horizontal to the center of the cup from the side they are pitching. The team that scores, pitches their washers first. |
3. SCORING
The player whose washer is closest to the cup scores 1 point. A player can score as many as 2 or 3 points if his/her washers are closer than their opponent(s). If a player pitches a washer in which part of the washer is over the edge of the cup, it is called a "leaner" which scores 3 points. If a player pitches a washer and it lands inside the cup, it's called a "ringer" which scores 5 points. If an opposing pitches a "ringer" which, "covers up" the other players' "ringer", neither player scores any points. Scoring then reverts to the conditions above. |
4. WINNING
The first team to score 21 points or more wins. If a team scores 11 points before their opponent scores any points, it is declared a "skunk" and that team is the winner. |
5. SAFETY
Players are to stand clear of the receiving end of the court. NOTE: Washers sometimes bounce off the cup of the frame. |
